Protecting Children in the Digital Age: Building a Shared Language to Prevent Exploitation

Protecting Children in the Digital Age

The absence of harmonised, locally grounded Arabic terminology remains a critical barrier to protecting children in today’s digital and offline environments.

Pearl Initiative’s Governance in Philanthropy Programme is joining the Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation and ECPAT International as a Community and Outreach Partner for an essential dialogue focused on strengthening shared Arabic terminology for child protection.

The event brings together policymakers, practitioners, media, private sector actors and philanthropic foundations, and marks the launch of a landmark initiative to translate and localise international child protection terminology for the Arab region.

Through panel participation and targeted outreach, the Governance in Philanthropy Programme will highlight how language drives accountability, reporting, ethical storytelling and effective action.
