Women Tech Founders Reframe Investor Readiness Through Governance
Pearl Initiative, in partnership with Sheraa, hosted a women-only session, “Governance & Investor Readiness For Women-Led Tech Startups,” bringing together female founders and investment leaders from the MENA region. The event highlighted the critical role of early-stage governance in enhancing investment readiness, building resilient ventures, and navigating structural barriers in an ecosystem where women-led startups receive just 1.2% of venture capital. Participants shared firsthand experiences of scaling challenges, strategic decision-making, and overcoming implicit biases in funding and operational growth.
The session reinforced governance as a practical tool for credibility, clarity, and long-term sustainability, rather than a post-growth luxury. By focusing on frameworks such as founder agreements, role clarity, and internal controls, women entrepreneurs can strengthen investor confidence and operational resilience. This convening reflects Pearl Initiative’s ongoing commitment to creating inclusive, growth-focused business ecosystems.
