The Pearl Initiative was founded in 2010 by business leaders to address corporate governance challenges in the Gulf region and share knowledge, experience, and best practices with the business community, for improved business sustainability, competitiveness and resilience, and to support sustainable economic growth.  Over 10 years of operations, the Pearl Initiative has convened 12,541 business leaders, across 222 events, forums, panel discussions and workshops, targeted 8,300+ university students across 40 universities in the Gulf region, and published over 150 regional insight reports and publications on aspects of corporate governance. While its mission has remained the same, the corporate governance landscape has changed significantly over the past decade.

This event will provide the business community and the Pearl Initiative network with a unique opportunity to review the corporate governance journey in the Gulf region and globally, assessing the current ‘state of affairs’ for corporate governance and aligning on the key priorities for 2022 and beyond.

The forum features key corporate partners and collaborators of the Pearl Initiative as they reflect on how corporate stewardship and governance improved their companies and the wider business community, and review the role the Pearl Initiative has played in bringing the business community together for improved accountability and transparency.
